Rules from God

These are good...

1. Wake Up !!
Decide to have a good day.
"Today is the day the Lord hath made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up !!
The best way to dress up is to put on a smile.
A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!!
Say nice things and learn to listen.
God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant
for us to do twice as much listening as talking.
"He who guards his lips guards his soul."
Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!...
For what you believe in.
Stand for something or you will fall for anything..
"Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time,
we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..."
Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up !!..
To the Lord.
"I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me."
Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up !!...
For something higher.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and lean not unto your own understanding.
In all your ways, acknowledge Him,
and He will direct your path."
Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up !!...
Your Prayers.
"Do not worry about anything;
instead PRAY ABOUT
EVERYTHING."
Philippians 4:6

I'm Sorry

If you were killed tomorrow.....

I'm sorry but I wouldnt be able to come to your funeral...

because I'd be in Jail for killing the person who did it

First, I want you to know that I love you to death & you are amazing

Second, No matter what happens I am here, call write or email

Third, I love you all dearly and hope you love me (lol) and i love being around you

Finally, your mood is what you make it. Smile lots, laugh often and your day will seem 100 times better.

(ya so if you've ever gotten this email you'll realise i got the first 1/2 from it and added 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.) :)

True friend

this is cute and i thought i would share

1. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you..
2. No man or woman is worth your tears, & the one who is, won't make you cry.
3. just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand & touches your heart.
5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can' t have them
6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.
7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
8. Don't waste your time on someone, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.
9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.
10. Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.
11. There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting & just be more careful about who you trust next time around.
12. Make yourself a better person & know who you are before you try & know someone else & expect them to know you.
13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

Happy Reformation Day!

"Stand"

This is our time to be strong
This is our time to rise up
To stand and be counted
This is our time to believe
To know in our God we are free
Let the world know to Him we belong

~ Rebecca St. James

Christmas!

so THIS is what's "wrong" with us....

Girls are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The boys dont want to reach for the good ones because they afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they get the rotten apples from the ground that arent as good, but easy. So the apples up top think something is wrong with them when in reality they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

"Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more,
Men were deceivers ever,
One foot in sea and one on shore,
To one thing constant never:
Then sigh not so, but let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into Hey nonny nonny."
~ from Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing

Hey Girls,

I just wanted to let you all know that my grandma (my mom's mom) died this afternoon. We were expecting it, since she has gone downhill steadily since my grandpa died 6 years ago, and last week she stopped eating, but it's still pretty tough on my mom to lose that last connection, expecially since she herself has been so sick lately.

Grandma's in a WAY better place right now - to the end, you could sense a feeling of peace come over her when you sang psalms to her. Now she's having a eternal-lifetime chance to sing those songs of praise to God herself! She is in His hands!!

Please pray for the rest of my family too though, my mom and especially my uncle and aunt who just flew back to the Netherlands last week and most likely won't make it down for the funeral.

"You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion...abundant in mercy and truth." Ps. 86.15

MOVIE!

Have any of you read Tommy Tenney's book One Night with the King? It's now been made into a movie (came out last weekend) - I just saw a trailer for it, and it looks like a great movie. It's based on the book of Esther, and pluggedinonline gives it a really good rating. So I think we should plan to get together sometime and watch it, either in theatre (shocking!) or once it comes out on DVD. Howzaboutit?

We are in business!

I got the links working!

Anyone else have a blog or other thing they want link-ed?

Christmas, huh?

Yeah, I think we should get together sometime around Christmas. I'm predisposed to say "Girls only!" This core group is, after all, just girls (and the blog is girls-only, b.t.w.), so unless we all get guys before then - unlikely - I think it's just fair all around to keep it girlzonly.

Em, you're just as bad as I was with my pictures of Roman soldiers!

I'm still working on getting full details about Saturday; tomorrow, maybe? (sorry!)

Mmmmhmmmm....

I have to say, I'm really digging this colour scheme - perfect for a girly site :D

I've got some news....I'm done my annotated bibliography!!! 1801 out of 1800 words done!!! How's that for near-perfect calculation?

And ya....nothing else much exciting going on. Marsha....can I get a ride with you up to the CYA retreat?? Otherwise I can't go...and I suppose I should send in my check for that :S....more money going down...yay.

And I just figured out that i brought a book to school that I didn't need...grr. Oh well...bright side...um.....I don't have one. it just is.

Alright...yes I'm going now - btw....anyone else up for a Christmas get-together?? girls-only perhaps?? (unless we find some nice good looking boys...then we'll just HAVE to include them, heehee...)

p.s. who cares if it's early for Christmas...you KNOW if we don't organize it now it'll likely never happen.

Hey

Marsha, this is an excellent idea. Now hopefully we all can keep up on current events in our lives. Now what is exciting in my boring life is that we are about to buy not one new dog but two. Hopefully we will be picking them up on Thursday afternoon. They are two beagles, a boy and a girl. I am really excited about this.
Besides that I have a midterm this Thursday and I have an annotated bibliography to do which right now I am procrastinating on. Whoever thought of the idea of an annotated bibliography would not want to meet up with me right now. Well hope to hear more from all of you because that's about all I have to say right now.

Woohoo!!!

Woot!!! I love this idea, Marshe! You're soooo smart, lol. So yeah. I haven't got much to chat about right now. I'm a pretty boring person who is currently procrastinating on her HUGE annotated bibliography due tomorrow, haha.
Oh, wait!!! I do have a few things (see, if what happens if you keep talking?)
1st, my mom is going to try and go back to school tomorrow!! We're not sure yet when her operation is (she'll be out for at least another 2-4 weeks then) but ya - this is good!
And 2nd, I got my hair cut this morning! Yay!! I like it! Not too different, but now it's an inch shorter and I have bangs!
And now I'm going back to my junk food and history books...
Oh - are there details for the Praise and Worship thing in Burlington?
Kk...going now. God bless!!
Okay, I'm already having troubles; anyone know how to edit the links at the side of the page? I'm gettin' nothin' but nothin'. My link won't work..... I guess this is my hands-on Internet training!

Ta-daaaa! *fanfare*

Here it is: the new meeting-place where we can hang out and Get A Life! Post thoughts, prayer requests, concerns, ideas, Great events, upcoming events, anything you want! Don't be afraid to say exactly what you think, but remember to keep comments in good taste. We're all pulling for you!
